Thank you for visiting our website.
Fire District No. 2 of Johnson County is an innovative and diverse fire department with a membership that reflects the community we serve. You are fortunate to have some of the most talented, prepared and caring individuals in the fire service working here.
We understand when a patron calls 9-1-1 and initiates a call for service, there is a clear expectation they will receive a rapid response by well trained professionals to mitigate their problem. Our members take pride in delivering services in a considerate, appropriate, and proficient manner. We are committed to delivering our patrons with the best possible fire-rescue-medical services.
The membership has appreciation for our heritage and tradition; we are an organization built upon the leadership of our past; recognizing without them we could not address the challenges of the future. We are a dynamic organization that values our past, sees present opportunities, and looks forward to the challenges of the future.
With the development and the guidance of our Mission-Purpose-Values and the measurement of our performance, Fire District No. 2 is well on its way to being a leader in the fire service. This is a responsibility not taken for granted or lightly.
The Fire District is moving forward in a progressive, yet cost efficient manner; utilizing cost/benefit methodology, performing research, study and justification to balance operational needs with financial assets. We are good stewards of the patron’s money.
As we have moved forward, there has been dramatic improvement and change over the past years with the modernization of the fleet, facilities, equipment, and the best operational practices. This can be contributed to on-going strategic planning and consistent execution of an action plan, but equally important, the dedication and vision of our Board of Directors.
Your Fire Department is a changing and learning organization. Currently, we are actively engaged in the execution of year two of a five year comprehensive Strategic Plan that will meet current requirements and address future needs. The core initiatives of the plan were developed by a focus group comprised of patrons and civic leaders, then approved by the Board of Directors and implemented by the membership.
In closing, we want to thank our patrons for their continued support and financial assistance. This has allowed us to provide like services when compared to larger fire departments in the county. In turn, the patrons reward is better services, better trained and prepared emergency services providers, and the potential of
lower insurance premiums.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for improving your fire department. If I can be of further service, please feel free to contact me at 913-592-3926.
